STUDENTS FIND THIS PROJECT ENGAGING! AND ENCOMPASSES AN INTEGRATION OF ALL LITERATURE READ AND GENRES OF WRITING WRITTEN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. (Please have copies of literature read available to students while they work on the project -- in class! They may work independently or with a partner.) THE FINAL PRODUCT WILL EXEMPLIFY MASTERY OF COMPREHENSION OF A VARIETY OF GENRES AND STYLISTIC WRITING OF A VARIETY OF GENRES! And, as a final piece of literature to read -- and to wrap-up this year-long curriculum on "stories worth telling" -- please include a reading of and listening to Mark Twain's A True Story, Repeated Word for Word as I Heard It; Twain was a newsman himself, but this story was special to him, as he told his editor to get it published and that he didn't care if he got paid.
